Unusual Forms of Psychic Reading

by Jordan Matthews

There are many forms of divination when it comes to psychic reading. Tarot and Runes are quite popular. There are also other forms of divination that is rarely used, but will work as well.

1. Casting Stones: Not many people use casting stones. This is the method of using crystals and gemstones for divination. There are different ways to use casting stones and each psychic reader will need to find what suits them best.

Casting stones are a group of crystals and gemstones which are thrown onto a flat surface and read by the psychic. These stones can be found in a kit, with a drawstring bag to store them and. Most who use the stones like to choose each stone by hand so they can get a feeling from each stone, as to vibration. When the stone feels right, they know it is one of the stones they want in their kit.

It is best to use smaller stones, but not tiny, as they would be easy to lose. They should also have one flat side.

You will want to choose the stones with their magical associations in mind. Tiger Eye is an yellow/orange stone that is associated with light, clarity, warmth, heat, daylight, the Sun, etc....This stone could also be associated with the night, vision, and cats. This all depends on the question that has been asked, or what the subconscious of the reader leads them to. Amethyst, as with all purple stones, is usually associated with psychic vision, and spirituality. If you are a beginner you will need to purchase one of the number of books available on the subject.

The stones can be cast in different ways. Some psychic readers choose to make a cloth to throw the stones on. Many times a circle is drawn on the cloth which is divided into four equal parts. Each of the four parts of the circle are represented by a direction: Air-East, Fire-South, Water-West, and Earth-North. Air has to do with the mind and the color yellow, Fire is connected with energy and action and the color red, Water is associated with emotion, psychic abilities and purple and blue stones, Earth is the more practical and tangible, and connects with earthy tones.

2. Crystal Balls and Crystals: Crystals are used in the same way that casting stones are. Contrary to the fortune tellers in old movies, the Crystal Ball does not open as a window to show scenes of what is happening, or what is to come. The Crystal Ball is used as a focal point for divination. Amethyst Crystal Balls are the right color to open the mind to the universal intelligence. Wiccans call the practice of gazing into a Crystal Ball scrying.

To practice scrying relax completely, make your mind blank, and focus your attention on the Crystal Ball. While in a relaxed state, focus on the question at hand. If you are fully relaxed and your mind is open, you will see an image in your mind or hear the answer in your head. Some psychic readers have actually reported seeing images within the crystal ball. This can also be accomplished with large stones.

3. Pendulums: Pendulums are used mostly for yes or no questions. A pendulum is any weight suspended by a chain or a string. The psychic reader will hold the pendulum over loosely over the center of a paper or cloth that has been divided into areas for yes and no. Without moving the pendulum themselves, they ask a question and the pendulum will begin to swing in one direction or another, indicating an answer.

A rendition of this divination has been used on pregnant women for many years. A needle is threaded and the psychic person will hold the thread over the abdomen of the pregnant woman and ask what the baby will be. If the needle swings in a side to side, or back and forth motion, in a straight line, the baby is a boy. If the needle swings in a circle of it's own volition, the baby will be a girl.

All of these methods can be learned and are quite an interesting and different way to give a psychic reading.
